History

The history of Tofino Air Lines goes back over a quarter of a century. As a small regional airline, it was originally founded to service the villages, logging camps and fishing industry on the West Coast of Vancouver Island from Tofino.

In the fall of 1999, Midcoast acquired Tofino Air Lines Ltd., and prompted its growth into an industry leading regional airline with a major presence on both Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.

Tofino Air expanded once again in January 2001 with the purchase of Pacific Spirit Air based in Silva Bay on Gabriola Island in the Gulf Islands. Tofino Air gained another Beaver aircraft and regular scheduled service between Gabriola and Vancouver.

Today, Tofino Air Lines operates regularly scheduled floatplane travel service to five destinations. Adventure and spa packages, sightseeing tours, scenic daytrips, custom charters, and daily scheduled flights - options to suit all of your distinct West Coast travel needs.
