Tofino Air Lines operates a fleet of four de Havilland Beaver DHC-2 floatplanes, three Cessna 180's and a state-of-the-art de Havilland Turbine Single Otter. This fleet configuration allows them to provide the most flexible air transportation service possible.
As the only operator on the Sunshine Coast that operates a Turbine Otter, Tofino Air Lines is proud of their state-of-the-art de Havilland Turbine Otter. The Otter is the future of floatplane travel, which combines the proven durability, and safety of the de Havilland Otter with the technology and safety of the turbine "Jet-Prop" power plant. The Otter is the largest aircraft in the fleet with the potential of 14 seats (currently 8). The aircraft has the latest technology and is easily converted to a freight carrier. Our Turbine Otter is equipped with the Sagem Integrated Cockpit Display System and is very suitable for operations in the West Coast environment.
The de Havilland Beaver is a true classic. It is a timeless symbol of Canadian ingenuity and has been named one of Canada's top 10 achievements - loved by all that have flown or depended on it. The six seat Beaver continues to prove its value every day, and to this day has yet to be replaced by any newer designs built to fill its role.
The Cessna 180 is a rugged high wing plane that is fast and quiet making it an excellent choice for up to three (3) passengers and a popular floatplane on the West Coast.
Our aircraft fleet is exceptionally well maintained, allowing us to provide safe, reliable air service. Our internal maintenance program has resulted in an outstanding safety record, meeting and exceeding the Canadian Air Regulations flight safety standards and our own internal quality control requirements.
